“Review of Educational Technology 1”
The Educational Technology 1 course has truly paved the way
for the learner to become aware, appreciative and equipped to use educational
technology tools ranging from traditional to modern educational media.
What is Educational Technology?
Educational technology is also referred to as technology of
education and is in reality incorporation of IT into the realm of classroom.
Education Technology is the development, application and
evaluation of systems, techniques and aids to improve the process of human
learning.
Technology in education is the application of technology to
any of those processes involved in operating the institutions which house the
educational enterprise.
Instructional technology is concerned with instruction. Systematic
way of designing, carrying out and evaluating the total process of learning and
teaching in terms of specific objectives.
Technology integration
is the application of technologies to introduce, reinforce, supplement
and extend skills.
Educational technology 1 showed the four phases of
application of educational technology in teaching and learning, namely:
- Setting of learning objectives
- Designing specific learning experiences
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning objectives
- Revision for further improvement of future instructional activities.
